The UK CONNEXION

Fall Events 2020

When paying the levy, do not expect hosts to provide change.
We need to minimize the handling of banknotes.
If you do not have a $5 banknote,
write a cheque payable to the UK CONNEXION before you arrive.
You will be asked to drop your payment directly into a bag
or envelope provided by the host.
We recommend the use of plastic gloves, masks, washing and sanitizing hands.

These events are conditional on the government rules in effect at the time regarding numbers, social distancing, masks, sanitization etc.

A VISIT AND WALK AROUND THE EVERGREEN BRICKWORKS
550 Bayview Avenue
The long-range weather forecast calls for sunshine and an above-average temperature for Dec 3, so Christine asks you to bring a snack or sandwich and join her at the Evergreen Brickworks where there is a lot to see and do. There’s a store that sells Christmas items and you can even order wine that can be delivered to your home: https://www.evergreen.ca/whats-on/event/order-your-evergreen-wines-by-stratus/. There is a coffee shop were you can get Fair-Trade coffee, as well as the most delicious shortbread cookies. The public washrooms are open. We can meander some of the walkways and watch out for whatever nature puts in our path! Then we can sit and enjoy our snack/sandwich. You can get to the Brickworks by TTC by taking a #28 South bus from Davisville station and return the same way. The buses are every 20 minutes. There is paid parking right on site. Remember your mask, social distancing, and the $5 UKC levy. Please have a $5 bank note or pre-written cheque ready payable to UK Connexion. This event is limited to 10, including the host. If you are interested, contact Christine by the Monday prior at 416-256-5851 or christineukc23@gmail.com. (If the weather doesn’t co-operate, the alternative date will be Sat Dec 5. You’ll be advised by 5 pm Dec 2.)

MYSTERY DESTINATIONS EVENT TO ENJOY THE SPARKLING FESTIVE LIGHTS AND STROLL
"downtown"
Please join us to celebrate the season in an unconventional way! We will assemble at College/Yonge (southwest corner) perhaps grab a cup of hot chocolate @ Tim’s there to drink along the way (or bring your own with you) as we stroll down Yonge St to view some mystery destinations, culminating at The Bay to view the windows dressed for Christmas. If the lockdown has been lifted and if we feel like it, we can split into smaller groups or go on our own and do a bit of Christmas shopping there. Then on past the majestic Old City Hall and to Nathan Phillips Square where the Christmas tree is sure to delight! Maybe the skaters will be out to provide more entertainment or feel free to join them! Remember that a mask will be needed as well as the $5 UKC levy. Please have a $5 note or pre-written cheque ready payable to UK Connexion. If you are interested, contact Jackie by Mon Dec 14th at 416-483-5153 but better still jackie@burgerfs.ca.
