Join Marilyn at the Alleycatz, 2409 Yonge St. 2.5 blocks north of Eglinton on the east side. Come and listen to the York Jazz Ensemble one of the top 9-piece bands playing in Toronto. They have an amazing large horn section and a wonderful new singer Cheryl Lyn Backman who has a beautiful bluesy voice. The Band plays jazz, blues, rock, ballads and some of the old big band standards. Alleycatz has a good sized dance floor so lots of room to dance. This quality band has a $10 cover charge, plus of course our $5 UK Connexion levy but no need to pay levy if you attended the earlier event. Culture Calls! "A stunning portrait series" according to Toronto Life, come join Jackie to see “The Way She Looks” a history of female gazes in African portraiture, along with "Ancestors Can you Read us?" at the Ryerson Image Centre (no admission charge, just the $5 UKC levy). After a couple of hours enjoying these photographs we can walk over to Spring Rolls at The Atrium on Bay for a tasty and reasonable Asian-style dinner. TWIN FALL HIKES IN PALGRAVE CONSERVATION AREA

Join Mary and Arnold for twin autumn hikes at the Palgrave Conservation Area. Mary will lead a moderate hike and Arnold will take a more challenging route. The two groups will meetup for a snack. Hike about 2 hours. Dress for weather and bring water, snack, etc. Afterwards we will head back to Bolton to relax and enjoy some refreshments at The Toby Jug Pub. We will meet at Tim Hortons at the intersection of Hwy 50 and King St. in Bolton. Please note that there are several Tim Hortons on Hwy 50 - but the one we need is in a small plaza with a TD bank and Tim’s - just north of King St. on the west side.
