Irene P. invites you to join her for an Oktoberfest buffet at her condo restaurant. If you wish, bring your Bavarian hats, noise-makers and leder-hosen to dress up to have some fun with Oompah Band music filling the air. The price is $18.95 p/p plus tax and tip. The $5 UKC levy will apply. There is a hearty menu: Ham rolls, Bismark herring, Oktoberfest bratwurst, pork schnitzel, braised beef cutlet, szegediner gulyas, red cabbage, sauerkraut, spaetzle, dumplings, Black Forest cake, crème caramel, apple strudel. Join Marilyn at the Leaside Pub, 190 Laird Drive. This is three blocks south of Eglinton at the north west corner of McCrae. (Bus stop right outside the Pub.) The Climax Jazz Band plays tradition New Orleans style jazz and is a leg end in Toronto. There is great pub food plus a $10 steak special on Saturday afternoons. No cover charge to hear this great band, only the $5 UKC levy. There is only a s mall parking lot, but street parking is available. BAND SWING/JAZZ AND DANCING - ALLEYCATZ

Join Marilyn at the Alleycatz, 2409 Yonge St. 2.5 blocks north of Eglinton on the east side. Come and listen to the York Jazz Ensemble one of the top 9-piece bands playing in Toronto. They have an amazing large horn section and a wonderful new singer Cheryl Lyn Backman who has a beautiful bluesy voice. The Band plays jazz, blues, rock, ballads and some of the old big band standards. Alleycatz has a good sized dance floor so lots of room to dance. This quality band has a $10 cover charge, plus of course our $5 UK Connexion levy but no need to pay levy if you attended the earlier event. WALK ALONG HUMBER RIVER
James Gardens or Old Mill Subway
Join Dorothy and Joan for a brisk walk along the Humber River Trail from James Gardens to the Old Mill and then to 2401 Bloor St. W for lunch at Dark Horse restaurant. This walk is divided into 2 segments – the first starts at James Gardens and the second starts near the Old Mill subway. For the James Gardens start, meet at 10:30 near the rear of the parking lot (free parking) where the walking path commences. For those starting at the Old Mill, meet a short walk from the Old Mill station, just past the Old Mill Inn and over the bridge of the Humber River where there is a free parking lot. Please be there by or before 11:45 am. Please note that the free parking lot is on the E side of the bridge, not the one directly across from the Old Mill Inn. Wear appropriate walking shoes; bring water and dress appropriately for the weather. The $5 levy applies. Please book with Joan or Dorothy by 6 pm.
