The UK CONNEXION

Spring Events 2021

You and your single friends, WHEREVER BORN, are invited to the following events
There is a $5 levy per person per event to be paid on arrival.
YOUR GUESTS and FIRST TIMERS INCLUDED.

When reserving for these events, please give your first & last names plus home phone number in case there is a change. Your home phone number is important - even if you reserve by email. The host may need to call you about a last-minute change.

When paying the levy, do not expect hosts to provide change; we must minimize the handling of cash. If you do not have a $5 banknote, write a cheque payable to the UK CONNEXION before you arrive. You will be asked to drop payment directly into a bag or envelope provided by the host.

UKC outdoor events are only possible by strict compliance with COVID-19 rules. If you do not believe in the necessity of masking, sanitization, and social distancing requirements, or have any virus symptoms, PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND.

WALK IN MOUNT PLEASANT CEMETERY
Yonge/Davisville
CANCELLED DUE TO COVID RULES
Celebrate Earth Day and join Christine for a walk in MPC. Bring a snack/drink and we’ll find a nook to sit and enjoy the outdoors and some company. We will meet at the Yonge/Davisville entrance to the cemetery. You can access it a little south of Chaplin/Davisville and then take the steps on the east side by the Kay Gardner Bridge to get on the belt-line and then a little east to the cemetery entrance where Christine will be waiting. Or turn left on Merton St. and then right at the first “laneway” to cut through to the cemetery entrance – saves walking up the steps. Event limited to 10 socially distanced masked members. Please have a $5 bill or pre-written cheque ready payable to UK Connexion. Contact Christine at christineukc23@gmail.com or 416-256-5851 by the Tue prior.

A PRE_SUMMER WALK THROUGH THE EVERGREEN BRICKWORKS AND BEYOND
Brickworks
(COVID RULES PERMITTING)
Join Christine for a pre-summer walk through the Evergreen (ever-changing!) Brickworks. After we meet at the TTC bus-stop, we'll do a tour around the area and then head towards the path that winds up the hill to lead us to a look-out point where we can view the Toronto skyline and look down into the valley where 100 years ago bricks were made. As we descend via another pathway and walk along the pond areas, we can watch out for turtles sunning themselves in the warmth as well as all sorts of birds. Once back at the coffee shop we can relax with a Fair-Trade coffee and a snack (bring your own if you wish). Should COVID RULES PERMIT by the time of this event and if patio dining is allowed and you are comfortable, Christine can make reservations to enjoy an early supper at The Bull and Firkin at Davisville/Yonge. Not a problem if you are not comfortable with patio dining. At this time, the event limited to 10 socially distanced, masked members. Please have a $5 bill or pre-written cheque ready payable to UK Connexion. Contact Christine at christineukc23@gmail.co or 416-256-5851 by Mon prior.
