High Park
Join Dorothy and Joan for a brisk walk at High Park. Meet at the north entrance of High Park on Bloor Street West at High Park Avenue, a 2 minute walk from the High Park subway station. Please arrive promptly. For those coming by car, allow time for parking and meet at 10:20 in front of the Grenadier Cafe, where the large parking lot (free parking) is located. We will hike through various sections of High Park for about 1 1/2 + hours. Then have lunch at Grenadier Cafe on the back patio. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water, sun screen, and a hat. The $5 UKC levy applies. If planning to do this walk, please book with either Joan or Dorothy by 6 pm on the Sat before. Join Dorothy & Joan on the back patio (or back dining room, depending on weather) for a leisurely lunch. This restaurant serves all-day breakfast & casual North American fare. Join Christine at the ELEPHANT & CASTLE, 212 King St W. Free snack platters provided, plus 15% off the menu prices if 15 or more attend. We meet and mingle near the back in a reserved area before sitting down for excellent pub food like Shepherd’s Pie, Fish & Chips, etc. Entrées: $9 - $16. Located directly across from Roy Thomson Hall - just steps from St. Andrew subway. For GO train users it is a relaxing 10 minute walk from Union Station and parking is free at GO stations. New members are very welcome. BRING YOUR SINGLE FRIENDS but please tell them about the $5 levy. (No need to pay levy if you attended the earlier event.) Join Lin at reserved UKC tables for the Singles Professionals Network dance. Cash bar and great DJ. Cost $15 includes UKC levy. When you arrive at the dance, please mention at the front desk that you are with the UK Connexion. The location will be announced by email and on our website. Old Spaghetti Factory

Join Chris at the Old Spaghetti Factory, a top dining experience in Toronto for decades, housed in a charming historical building that was a blacksmith's shop at the turn of the century, Just one block east of the old Hummingbird/Sony Center. Mingling starts at 6 pm in the bar, dinner at 7 pm. Several popular Italian specialties are offered with prices ranging from approx. $13 to $20. All meals include soup or salad, fresh bread with plain or garlic butter, finished off with spumoni ice cream, tea, or coffee. Individual billing; tax and gratuity not included. Plus UKC levy. Private Sing-Along

Sing your heart out at this popular event! This evening at Roger’s home will feature him playing lively golden oldies and other favourites on the piano, and he invites you to sing along. Song sheets and food provided. BYOB and some nibblies if you wish. UKC members only, and limited to 35 people. Book Club
Central Etobicoke
Are you excited about reading? Do you like to discuss the books you have read? Join Joan and Dorothy for a book club meeting at Dorothy's home to discuss that month's chosen book over tea, coffee, or water, and some snacks. If you wish, bring a list of titles/authors of books that you have enjoyed or want to read in the future. Research has shown that both reading and socializing play an important role in maintaining mental health. For this, the very first UKC book club meeting, please read beforehand the book, Still Alice by Lisa Genova. The Toronto Public Library has over 60 copies of this book and some of these are large print copies. Dorothy's address will be given when members register for this event. You must be a member to attend this event. Some free parking available. TTC bus service close by. Cost is $5 plus the $5 UKC levy. Reserve early as there will be a limited numbers of participants. Join Bruce for mingling and dinner in a reserved private cozy bar, with elevator access and washrooms on the same floor, at the Bedford Academy Pub, 36 Prince Arthur. Squire and Firkin
Please join Marilyn for mingling and drinks, followed by dinner. Arrive early to enjoy a beer, wine or cocktail and complimentary snack platters provided by the pub before we sit down to dinner about 7:15 pm. This is a great event for new members and please invite your single friends but remind them of the $5 UKC levy. Also, we consistently have more men than women which does make a nice change. Location: 3335 Bloor St W, just 2 blocks east of Islington subway station, and street parking is usually available. Reservations are not needed, please just drop in. Join Dorothy and Joan at Scarlett Woods executive golf course for 18 holes of golf at 1000 Jane Street. You don’t have to be an expert. All welcome! Bring your single friends! We will be playing ‘BEST DRIVE’, meaning that for the drive only, on holes greater than 150 yards; players pick up their balls and place them in line with the ball of the player who has the best drive. There will be prizes for ‘CLOSEST TO THE HOLE’ and ‘LONGEST DRIVE’ at designated holes. There is a maximum of one prize per golfer. Cost: green fees of $30 for seniors and $45 for adults, plus $5 UKC levy. Rentals available: clubs $20, pull cart $5 and power carts $30 for seniors, $32 for adults. Power carts can be shared. Wild Goose
Everyone is welcome and since NO reservations are needed, just show up; UKC levy of $5 will apply. This will be the ’19th hole’ for many of the afternoon golfers, with no levy payable. The WILD GOOSE Bar & Grill is located at 5395 Eglinton Ave. W, just west of Renforth Drive. From Scarlett Woods golf course, go west on Eglinton and about 10 minutes later just after passing the lights at Renforth, you will see the restaurant in the plaza on the south (left side).
