Join Bruce for mingling and dinner in a reserved private cozy bar, with elevator access and washrooms on the same floor, at the Bedford Academy Pub, 36 Prince Arthur. Food choices are excellent, with a wide range of wines, domestic and imported beer at this interesting establishment. GOLFING FUN DAY

Join Dorothy and Joan at Scarlett Woods (Jane/Eglinton) Executive Golf Course for 18 holes of golf. You don’t have to be an expert. All welcome! Bring your single friends! If needed, we will be playing ‘BEST DRIVE’, meaning that for the drive only, on holes greater than 150 yards, players who are beginners, pick up their balls and place them in line with the ball of the player who has the best drive. There will be prizes for ‘CLOSEST TO THE HOLE’ and ‘LONGEST DRIVE’ at designated holes. There is a maximum of one prize per golfer. Our tee off times will begin just after 12 noon, so please arrive to the golf course before 11:45. Cost: green fees of $30.50 for seniors and $43.50 for adults, plus $5 UKC levy. Rentals available: clubs $20, pull cart $7 and power carts $30 for seniors, $32 for adults. Power carts can be shared. (All prices subject to change.) CRIMES of the HEART by Beth Henley - A new crisis stirs up old resentments for a troubled family in this witty and warm-hearted Pulitzer- Prize-winning drama. Please join Mary in the lobby by 1:30 pm to buy your tickets at the box office as the play starts at 2 pm and seating is on a first come, first served basis (Adults $24/Seniors $20). Mary will collect $5 UKC levy. Location 2190E Bloor St W (downstairs on the north side across the street from No Frills) just east of Runnymede subway. A municipal parking lot is located behind the theatre, and there is street parking on Bloor and side streets. As play sells out fast, they have asked that we contact theatre a week prior to play to hold seats so please contact Mary at mbjukc@gmail.com or 905-507-0397 by Sun Sep 16. After the play, you are welcome to join us at the Bread and Roses Bakery Café a short walk away.

DINNER AT THE WILD GOOSE

Everyone is welcome and since NO reservations are needed, just show up; UKC levy of $5 will apply. (No need to pay levy if you attended either earlier event.) This will be the ’19th hole’ for many of the afternoon golfers, with no levy payable. The WILD GOOSE Bar & Grill is located at 5395 Eglinton Ave. W, just west of Renforth Drive. From Scarlett Woods golf course, go west on Eglinton and about 7 minutes later, just after passing the lights at Renforth, you will see the restaurant in the plaza on the south (left side). Hopefully it will be a lovely sunny day, so we can enjoy dinner on the large patio. Any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to contact JOAN.

Join Liz at the Rex, an hotel since the late '80s, it has been at the forefront of Toronto's thriving local jazz scene and has grown into a musical mecca that continually attracts Canada's finest musicians. The casual atmosphere, eclectic mix of retro -chic decor, and an exciting variety of draught beer and good pub food combine to make The Rex feel like a second home that is unique in that it remains inexpensive and affordable. Two pay parking lots just north on St. Patrick or on-street parking. No cover charge, just $5 UKC levy, plus the band will pass the tip jar for contributions. CLIMAX JAZZ BAND - THE LEASIDE PUB
Laird south of Eglinton
Join Marilyn at the Leaside Pub, 190 Laird Drive. This is three blocks south of Eglinton at the northwest corner of McCrae. (Bus-stop is right outside the pub.) The Climax Jazz Band plays traditional New Orleans jazz and is a legend in Toronto. There is great pub food plus a $10 steak special on Saturday afternoons. No cover charge to hear this wonderful band, only the $5 UKC Levy. There is only a small parking lot, but street parking is available plus a large shopping plaza a block down on the east side of Laird. Hiking
HIKE IN PALGRAVE CONSERVATION AREA
Hwy 50/King St
Join Mary and Arnold at the Tim Horton’s in downtown Bolton at 11am (Hwy 50 and King St) and we will then proceed to the hike trail just north of Palgrave on the west side of Hwy 50 - about 20 minutes from Bolton. Enjoy a pleasant and exhilarating hike on the trails for approximately 2.5 hours. Some elevations - dress for the weather and pack snack/lunch and water. We will take a break near the pond. Afterwards we will head back to Bolton to relax and enjoy some refreshments at The Toby Jug Pub (directions will be given at the hike).
