(Bus stops right outside the Pub.) The Climax Jazz Band plays traditional New Orleans style jazz and is a legend in Toronto. There is great pub food plus a $10 steak special on Saturday afternoons. No cover charge to hear this great band, only the $5 UKC levy. There is only a small parking lot, but street parking is available. There is a good selection of wine and beer available, as well as a decent menu. Prices are reasonable. There will be a cover charge ($10-$15) as well as the $5 levy. From Eglinton station take the 56 bus (or any bus going east)and get off at Redpath Avenue and walk east along Eglinton (south side) to Mt. Pleasant, then south on Mt. Pleasant, no more than 5 minutes, or alternatively take the 74 bus from St. Clair station (to Donlands) and get off at Soudan Ave then walk north less than a block. We’re going to start at 3pm, meeting at The Ryerson Image Centre where there’s an interesting photo exhibition as well as individual photography displays by artistic students - admission to this gallery is free! Located on their campus at 33 Gould St at Bond. Then we’re going to dine at Spring Rolls at 40 Dundas St West, 8-minute walk from the gallery. Their extensive menu covers Asian: Thai & Chinese cuisines and their "All You Can Enjoy" sampler is $30 + tax & tip and is really good quality. HIKE ALONG HUMBER RIVERJoin Dorothy and Joan for a hike along the Humber River Trail (approx 6 km round hike) from James Gardens to the Old Mill and then to 2401 Bloor Street W for lunch at Dark Horse restaurant. The hike is divided into 2 segments – the first starts at James Gardens and the second starts near the Old Mill Inn. For the James Gardens start, meet at 10:30 am near the rear of the parking lot (free parking) where the walking path commences. For those starting at the Old Mill, meet a short 5-minute walk from the Old Mill station, just past the Old Mill Inn and over the bridge where there is a free parking lot. Please be there by 11:30 am. Note that the free parking lot is on the east side of the bridge, not the one directly across from the Old Mill Inn. Dress appropriately for the weather, including suitable footwear. The $5 UKC levy applies. Please book with Joan or Dorothy by noon Sat Mar 9.
